The Blue Chromis (Chromis cyanea) is a relatively peaceful caribbean damselfish that shows an intense blue coloration. It can reach sizes of up to 10 cm. While Chromis are known as a schooling fish, especially when young, they become territoial when they age and form pairs. There are no external cues for telling genders apart. Keeping groups is only advised in larger tanks where each fish can have its own territory. In the wild, they live in reefs where they can escape into the coral thicket in case of danger.
